Scented Candles To Fill Your Room With Fragrance

The use of candles in the home can change its atmosphere almost instantly. Turn of the electric lights, and light one or more candles, and the mood changes. All of a sudden the flickering flames of the candles create a more relaxing, romantic and meditative mood to the room, regardless of its decor, colours and furnishings. Choose scented candles, and another dimension to that mood setting can take place, as the sense of smell comes into play and each scent sparks a different effect on those who enter the room.

How do you go about choosing scented candles? If you are unfamilar with many of the fragrances, then it can be a matter of trial and error. By buying a variety of single scented candles, you can experiment with each, and then in the future stick to those which you like or have the desired effect.

If you are used to having aromatherapy massage, or bunring aromatherapy oils in the home, then the fragrances used in the practice of aromatherapy will be familiar to you. Many of these essential oils can be found in scented candles. The top picture, for example, combines patchouli, ylang-ylang, rose, and lavender, all excellent aromatherapy oils, plus cedarwood, and orange.

The second picture is of Jasmine and Lily Essential Blend. Jasmine is one of the most luxurious and delicate of the essential oils, and well worth trying as a scented candle.

Do you like a fruity scent? You can find scented candles with a fruit ffragrance. The Avora candle shown left, for example, is Apple. If you bake apples, the chances are you will add flavour with cinnamon, nutmeg or clove; even all three. Well this scented candle mixes all four fragrances.
