Rustic Furniture For Your Lodge or Cabin
Also: Rustic Dining Furniture, Rustic Bedroom Furniture and Rustic Log Furniture
Vintage style or antique wooden furniture can look good in any older style country home. When it comes to your vacation lodge or cabin, then the use of wood, whether pine or any other suitable wood, almost becomes an essential for the furniture to be in keeping with the environment and ambience of your country surrounds. Using rustic furniture can add greatly to the interior decor of the lodge.
It is not difficult to find good quality rustic furniture, and much of it is suitable for a lodge. It is possible to find a rustic example of just about any item of furniture you can think of, so furnishing the lodge in a rustic theme should be more of a pleasure than a chore.
While plain wooden furniture in keeping with the lodge's ambience is sufficient to create a warm and attractive decor, many people like to add a few extra touches to remind themselves of their setting and surrounds.
The night stand, or bed side table, shown left is in a good quality rustic pine, one of the most popular of timbers for rustic furniture. That alone would make it an attractive bedroom furniture item. However, it has one extra and special touch, and that is a silhouette of a bear. There is also a twin with a silhouette of a moose available.

Rustic furniture is not exclusively wood, of course. Another material for country furniture has been, for centuries, wrought iron. The picture left shows you how well you can combine iron and wood as part of a rustic bedroom themed decor.
This picture also shows how you can create a lighter feel to the room by using a light pine as the wood choice, with very light coloured walls and lamp shades. The iron and pine bed is the main feature, with some intricate and attractive ironwork. Iron is also used successfully on the lamp stands.

Using a different shade of pine, the dresser (left) is a lovely example of a chunky wood rustic style of furniture for the bedroom.
It is best, if possible, to stick to one style of wood for the room. Your first decision is probably to decide whether to use a dark or a light wood for the basic rustic theme, and then take it from there.
Whether you choose dark or light wood, it is quite easy to create a rustic ambience to add a vintage touch to your lodge decor; and to make it look very attractive.
