Plant Stands to Add Another Dimension to Your Home Decor

The use of plant stands as home or garden decor is a very useful way of adding another dimension to your decor. Many of the stands available, whether one, two or three tiered, are really made for indoor use, but some will survive outside on the patio with care. Of course, plant stands add greater versality to your home decor as a medium for displaying plants. A careful use of indoor plants can add greatly to the ambience of your home, and with such a wide choice of indoor plants available the scope is both varied and enormous.

What types of plant stands can you expect to find in the stores, both local and online? Plant stands tend to come in a variety of materials, the more common being wood, wrought iron and other metals, and wicker. Less common, but very appealing alternative base materials, can be found in porcelain, marble, stone, and acrylic.

The first picture (above left) combines wood, in this case a deep cherry, with a white marble top. That elegant combination makes a stylish item of home decor, even without the embellishment of a plant pot and plant.

The second example (left) is a wrought iron plant stand with a pewter finish. It has traditional Florida decor element, and boasts elegant curved legs.

The final picture (left) is of a more unusual and luxurious plant stand. This tall and spindly plant stand is made from resin, with the bulk of it finished in antique bronze. The base, though, has an antique gold effect, while the plant base at the top is in a creamy brown that mimics stone.
