That, however, is not the end of it; there are still quite a few varied and miscellaneous ornaments, some of practical use, that you can keep on a desk.

It is true that the modern executive may not use books as much as the previous generations, with so much information and data being stored on computer and accessible through the internet. However, depending on the market his company is in, there may still be some special books, such as trade directories, that he may use regularly and needs them to hand. With too few books for book shelves, a stylish pair of bookends can make an attractive feature for the executive desk. Those shown above left are in a mahogany finish with brass accents.

You will find many office workers, executives or not, who like to keep pictures of their family in view on the desk. So, for an executive desk, it is a good idea to combine the photograph with a quality piece of desktop decor.
