Log Cabin Offices in the UK - The Adaptable Garden Buildings That Can Be Used as Summerhouses Too
Most people probably associate log cabins with forests, mountains and snow, usually located in North America or Scandinavia. They have a new use in the UK, though: log cabin offices. It is understandable why this should be. Traditional log cabin design in Scandinavia has been geared towards keeping out the elements, and the Scandinavian weather is harsher in the winter than in the UK. If they can keep people warm and cosy there, then surely they can in an English garden during the winter, even in a Scottish snowstorm.

As you can see from the pictures, modern log cabins need not look anything like the old traditional style. There are many design optins available nowadays, as well as additional features like contemporary insulation.
One off putting thing about being forced into the garden to establish a home office, is the prospect of cold, damp winters. In the old days, that probably meant being condemned to working in in thick woollies, and even gloves and jacket. No more; warmth and cosiness is possible for a garden office in the log cabin style.

The first log cabin pictured (the Studio) is a basic, but high quality, affair. Even so, it has a distinctive style, with some built in modern amenities such as double glazing for the door and windows, pre-drilled holes for electircal cables, plus roof and floor insulation. The one pictured is 4 x 3.5 metres, but these cabins are made to order, and you can upgrade the size and some other options.
The second picture (the Lugarde Ruben log office) is 5 x 4 metres, and is made to high specification throughout, providing an ideal garden office set up even for the UK. It has 68 mm solid wall logs, plus insulation and double glazing throughout to help keep you warm.
Finally, the Lugarde Prima Fifth Avenue Duo Maxi XL Summerhouse. This cabin is 3.6 x 5.4 metres, and a generous 44mm wall thickness. Imagine getting down to work in this office in summer or winter? Maybe working in the garden is not such a bad idea after all.
