Garden Frog and Toad Statues
Also: All Garden Statues
Animals are popular subjects for garden ornaments and decor. Frog and toad statues are amongst the most loved of the decor animals, probably because of the association with water and the popularity of water gardens. You can often find them made in concrete, fiberstone, marble and other materials.

Frogs and toads are not common any longer in the UK, but they are not forgotten in people's gardens in the concrete statue form. Here where I live now, after the tropical rains have fallen, the sound of frogs and toads croaking fills the night air and it is not unusual for a frog to come into the house for a visit. They are cute, but their sudden leaps do make some people jump.
There is no chance of leaping frogs if you buy a statue; that is, unless you buy a leaping frogs statue such as the one below left. These delightful, whimsical garden statues are made of concrete, and are really small ornaments for the pond side or hiding amongst small flowering plants.

Frog and toad garden statues, though, come in many sizes large and small, just like the real animals. Top left is a medium sized green bull frog statue, a stone cast statue built to last for generations, and made in such a way that is has a vintage appearance.

We must not forget the toads, and the chubby little fellow on the left is a green warty toad statue. This is a bit larger, at 7 inches high. Made from a mix of Portland cement and high intensity mesh, this garden statue will outlive many generations of real toads.

If you like to add some whimsical humour to your garden, then the little frog on a ball is sure to bring a smile to many a face, including no doubt any passing frog who happens to look his way.
