Indoor Free Standing Waterfalls
When you decide you want to have an indoor waterfall as part of your home decor, you have a choice of three basic types. The most impressive are probably the wall mounted waterfalls, but you can find some equally attractive free standing waterfalls if you look around. The third type are the smaller table top fountains or waterfalls.
One of the major advantages of free standing waterfalls is their flexibility of use. For those who like to move their furnishings around, as my wife does and my baby daughter was doing before she could even walk, a wall founted waterfall is not something you will want to move that often. With a free standing waterfall, though, you can move it with some ease wherever you want in the home.
So, what types of free standing waterfalls can you choose from? As with the wall mounted type, the choice is quite wide; as is the price range. The prettiest are probably the decorated glass falls, such as the one shown top left. In this, the water flows over the floral decoration of the glass down its 6ft height. The frame is actually stainless steel, and you can buy this waterfall either uncoated or with a powder coated finish in a variety of colours.
The second picture is of a top of the range copper free standing waterfall. This is engineered to the highest quality, with non corrosive parts, and will look particularly impressive in a home with modern decor.
The final picture takes us to the opposite end of the price range. This is a water panel, rather than a waterfall as such. It is free standing and made from acrylic. Its main feature is the lighting effects, with glimmering bubbles rising through the illuminated water. While not strictly speaking a waterfall, this is a nice alternative at a lower price than many indoor waterfalls.
