Fancy Bird Houses

When birds go looking for somewhere to build a nest, their number one concern is security and safety for their eggs and offspring. Sometimes, a conveniently placed bird house in somebody's garden fits their needs very well. However, when it comes to appearance, they won't care one little whether it is a fancy bird house or something just plain and simple.

The owner of the garden, though, may look at things very differently. They want to help the birds, and encourage them to their garden to breed; but, some like to adorn their garden with decor that looks just that little bit different, such as a fancy bird house.

To meet the needs of such flamboyant gardeners, there has developed a good market for unusual, sometimes whimsical, and always well decorated bird houses.

Some even think that every bird dreams of a desirable residence very much like their own, in miniature. The detached cottage, above left, is one such artistic example, and very nice it looks too; so realistic you can even imagine it in the local real estate broker's window.

Some designers of fancy bird houses really let their imagination go wild, and come up with some lovely decorous designs. The artistic examples shown below are conversation pieces; amongst humans anyway.

The small bird house is brightly painted for that flamboyant gardener. It is even decorated with beads for that extra friendly touch for the decor conscious birds in the neighbourhood.

Bird houses do have a practical use, too, so it is worth bearing in mind that birds are more likely to be wary of something bright and unusual. So if you opt for a brightly coloured and artistic bird house, get it up in place before the breeding season gets under way, and the local birds will be familar by the time spring is really in the air.
