Executive Desktop Sand Timers

While the modern executive may use his personal organizer, computer, Rolex watch, cell phone and secretary to keep control of his time, and lead the way in time management, there is still an old fashioned way he can use. Remember sand timers? Maybe you never even heard of them, but they are an ancient means of keeping time and can be used as a countdown tool.

Not only do they still have a practical, if novelty, use, sand timers can make very attractive desktop decor for the executive, making them very useful executive gifts. A high quality sand timer can look very good on the desk, and also may come in useful sometimes. An executive who has given a salesman 15 minutes of his time, can set the sand timer going (the one on the left is a 15 minute timer) and the salesman will be constantly away that the sands of time are passing by.

The first sand timer pictured is made from matte mahogany, and has silver accents. This one is made by Chass, as is the piano finish mahogany sand timer shown left. This is similar in design, but has bronze accents as well as the different shade of wood.

The final picture is of a rosewood sand timer by Howard Millar. This also has bronze accents, including the beautiful pillars that frame the hourglass. The wood is highly polished, giving a real executive feel to this luxury desk item.
