How to Quickly Declutter and Organize Your Master Bathroom
With all of the many personal items, toiletries, hair care items, makeup, and skin care products that we have, it's no wonder the master bathroom is one of the easiest places in the house to collect clutter. Thankfully there are easy ways of quickly organizing your master bathroom.
First begin by throwing out any old makeup that may be past its expiration date, or anything that you haven't used in a few months. If you're in doubt, throw it away anyway and sort the remaining items in separate baskets, boxes, or containers. Smaller containers can be kept in drawers or on shelves, as well as out on counter tops. If you have duplicate items, keep the extras in another space for later use keeping only the essentials in the bathroom.
Most counters in master bathrooms quickly become cluttered with toiletries, displaying decorative, but useful containers, leaves less space for "junk" and provides a place for cotton balls or swabs, or other small items. Clear containers are extra useful as they allow you to see if your supplies are starting to run low.
The back of the bathroom or closet doors are usually wasted space, unless of course you already have a few hooks to keep robes and towels neat. Hooks are inexpensive and also encourage the kids to hang up their clothes rather than throwing them on the floor.
Don't forget the ever important medicine cabinet as most of us usually have at least one or two expired items lurking on one of the shelves. Check every date and discard anything past it's expiry date, being sure to dispose of everything safely. If there's something not labeled, or you aren't sure what it is, be on the safe side and throw it out. Make a list of medicines and products that need replenishing.
A hanging, decorative basket near the shower is perfect for keeping shaving supplies together, easily accessible, but still out of the way. There are some storage racks that also hang directly inside the actual shower as well.
If space permits, store all of the cleaning products in one basket or container underneath the sink or in the bathroom closet. Of course you'll want to make sure all supplies are out of the reach of children and pets. You can also store all of your cleaning tools here as well, such as paper towels, cleaning rags, sponges, gloves, or whatever else you normally use in the bathroom. This saves time searching for the right products and keeps everything neat and in one place.
