Cat Statues For The Garden
Also: Garden Statues
A sleepy summer's afternoon relaxing in the garden can evoke some very pleasant memories for millions of people. But not just people. How often have you seen your cat stretched out somewhere cool, sleeping in the shade? Cats and gardens somehow go together for many families, and that is why it seems so natural to have cat statues as ornaments in the garden.

A cat statue, if well made, can add its own relaxing, feline touch to the garden decor; and without all the seedlings being dug up, and loose soil being tossed all over the footpath. Loving the real thing as we do, cat statues can still be an advantage to the real gardener. The sleeping cat statue, shown above left, certainly sets the tone for the lazy afternoon when it is too hot to do anything strenuous.

As a cat lover, I must say I do love to watch a real cat, especially a young, exploring kitten, in the garden; even if they are up to mischief. The goldfish in the garden pond, though, are much safer with this peeking kitten statue shown left. Ready to pounce on the fish and find out it cannot swim, this delightful cat statue really looks the part by an ornamental water garden.

The last picture is of a far more alert and regal looking cat, keeping watch over its garden territory. This particular Egyptian cat statue certainly adds more height than the other two, but all the statues shown are modest and realistic in size, not like the great lion statues of an English country mansion.
