Beach Decor With A Nautical Theme
If you are lucky enough to have a beach home then the chances are you bought it because you love the sea. If you love the sea, then I am sure all things nautical come to mind when you are deciding on your beach decor for your haven by the shore.
Much of the outside nautical decor available would find an appropriate place in the beach garden or on the outside of a beach home. Some of it is new and modern, but much is steeped in traditions of old.
The lobster trap buoys on the left, for example, look vintage with their weather and sea beaten finish. Yet you can buy them new in sets of three, and they come in mixed colours, and are made from wood.
A ship's bell evokes a great sense of tradition for the mariner. Even if you live by the sea and have a modern yacht, or no boat at all, a brass bell as part of your beach decor is sure to be a temptation. A fine example is shown on the left, and this fully functional bell will be a wonderful way to summon the children from the sea or beach. This is no antique, although it could be, as polished brass can come up shining like new if well cared for. The wall fitting for the bell is another mainstream nautical symbol, an anchor.
Flags, of course, have a very long nautical tradition, but if you are looking for something bright and amusing to add to our beach decor, then maybe a light hearted flag will suit just fine. The colourful flag on the left declares : "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem."
Well, you go to the beach to relax, don't you? So a whimsical and amusing flag could be just the job.
