Artistic Bird Houses

For those who like to attract birds to their garden, and at the same time like to have attractive and unusual garden decor, artistic bird houses can be the perfect solution. There are certainly some very cheerful, bright and decorative bird houses around nowadays to choose from.

The three pictures shown here are of truly artistic bird houses, created by a group of artists. These are all hand painted, and based on highly imaginative designs; certain to bring a smile to even the most miserable face. Would you have ever imagined brightly coloured flip flops as a bird house? Probably not, but somebody did, and you can see the end result on the left. This unique bird house is hand crafted in metal, and with decorative trinkets on the wire.

The next picture, left, is a very cute bird house with a distinctive, smiling flower on the front. Alighting on the flower is a yellow butterfly. In fact, this is not so much a bird house as a country cottage, its rustic charm very evident in the design. This is also hand painted, in wood and metal, and is hung on decorative beaded wiring. With its brown roof, this has the appeal of a vintage olde worlde cottage.

Another unique design from an imaginative mind is the plate bird house shown on the left. This is also a delightful and artistic design, crafted from metal and easy to hang anywhere outside, whether in the garden or on the house.

As we say elsewhere on this web site, bright and unusual bird houses may cause some wariness from birds when first put outside. It is therefore best to put them in a permanent position well before the breeding season, so that the birds are used to them and more likely to take up residence.
